There are more than 30 forging companies in the CBM, capable of manufacturing products in a variety of shapes, sizes, materials and weights. This market area serves high profile sectors such as aerospace, automotive, gas and oil, rail and many more.
There are also a range of Pressing companies within the CBM, utilising unique tooling to meet design specifics, on presses ranging from 10 tonnes to 4,000 tonnes. The items produced are sent to a variety of companies and sectors, such as construction and white goods companies, and aerospace or automotive.
CBM Fastener members account for more than 60% of the UK's annual output of bolts, nuts, fasteners and rivets. Technologies include cold-forming, hot-forming, CNC machining, threat rolling and an extensive range of secondary options. These members also provide goods to sectors such as aerospace.
Energy costs for all CBM members will always be something that are at the forefront of the metal forming industry. Current pressures to find a way to offset energy costs has never been higher, and has become critical to remain price-competitiveness.
