Thomas Dudley Group Ltd is a group of SME manufacturing businesses based in Dudley. Currently, we have two foundries, two plastic manufacturing businesses (including injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion), a zinc diecasting business and a water-fittings assembly business. As a highly intensive energy user, Thomas Dudley Group is supporting the Repowering the Black Country initiative to reduce the carbon emissions for the collective. Thomas Dudley has been manufacturing in the UK since the company’s inception in 1920. Having previously helped to develop and manage foundries across the UK, Mr Thomas Dudley set up his own business. By the 1950s, the foundry was producing a wide range of products including cast iron WC cisterns. However, following a number of harsh winters, they began manufacturing frost-resistant, heavy-duty rubber cisterns. This move paved the way for the plastics division which started to manufacture plastic injection moulded models shortly afterwards. Today, Thomas Dudley is a hugely successful manufacturing business, employing around 500 people and generating an annual turnover exceeding £50 million.
As part of our goal to help the industry reach Low Carbon Strategies, we are working alongside the Repowering The Black Country project to ensure that the plans they put forward align with the industries best interest
Working closely with similar companies through the UK, Thomas Dudley is doing their best to help guide companies towards more renewable sources of energy.
