Somers Forge have regularly acquired their ISO:14001 accreditation to maintain their practice in caring for the environment while growing their business.
Annual Energy Review and Targets
Each year, Somers Forge review their energy consumption with the aim to reduce the actual performance vs kilowatt hours per tonne of steel produce by an average of 5%.
Recycling and Aftermarket Support
100% of all steel is fully traceable, and any metal by-products are recycled. Additionally, Somers Forge offer a refurbishment shafting solution which supports their environmental responsibility through recycling. They assess the product and if it is deemed unsuitable for refurbishment, then aftermarket routes are offered. This involves cutting the material into pieces to be remelted and recycled.
