EnTRESS supports Black Country and Stoke & Staffordshire small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the adoption of environmental technologies and resource efficiency processes. All activities are fully funded and the project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund to promote sustainable economic growth.
EnTRESS engages with SMEs and large organisations to link academic research into business, driving innovation in areas such as waste management, bioremediation, biopolymers, pollution control and sustainable operations. We understand that the environmental technologies sector is varied and fast moving, so EnTRESS will provide the practical support to help SMEs engage with these innovations.

The Made In The Midlands COIN aims to bring all these companies together, so that bonds of partnership can be made, and innovitive ideas can be encouraged and brought to fruition. It is centralised on the Made In The Midlands Group, who works closely with companies in an around the Midlands to: - To open a channel of communication within local firms to source and supply locally where possible, - To upskill and reskill workforces, and finally - To promote good news from manufacturing businesses in order to counteract the adversity in the media that ultimately undermines confidence. The Repowering The Black Country project is a multi-million pound investment that requires the needs of the industry are met to acceptable levels, avoiding any inefficient practicies, while also reducing carbon emissions of the companies involved. The Industrial Advisory Board are a group of businesses who aim to guide the project to achieve those goals, offering insight towards the next steps, as well as offering support if and when needed to ensure the project runs effectively and efficienctly throughout it's development.
